The Faculty of Law at the University of Jordan and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to Establish a Comprehensive Knowledge Center at the Faculty

The MoU has been signed on 28/11/2012 by Professor Ekhleif Tarawneh, President of the University of Jordan, on behalf of the University, and Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group, in presence of the Deputies of the President of the University, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, a number of the academic staff members of the Faculty, and representatives of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group.
The Memorandum included a number of items that shall enhance the academic and scientific cooperation between both parties, which are in line with the orientations of the vision of the University to develop the performance and skills of its students, in order to achieve leadership and meet the requirements of the labor market. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group has undertaken to establish “Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Center” at the Faculty of Law, and providing it with computers and other equipment necessary for education purposes, in addition to providing a digital library in order to facilitate students’ access to different kinds of knowledge.
The MoU emphasized on launching specialized courses in law, English language, and computer skills, in addition to mutual legal training courses to be held by the Arab Society for Intellectual Property - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh group and the members of the Faculty of Law, with the possibility of focusing on Libyan and Iraqi markets due to their need for the specialized legal training.
 Dr. Abu Ghazala stated that law students are not far the tsunami of knowledge, stressing that the knowledge center to be established at the Faculty will focus on creating legal personnel skilled with information technology since the law science shall transform in future to the digital age. In his lecture, held after the signature of the Memorandum, Dr. Abu Ghazala said that man’s power lies in the power of knowledge and the use of the latest technologies and electronic tools, referring that the Arab Society for Intellectual Property represents today the largest database for information in the Arab World.
 During the lecture which was attended by a large number of law students and a number of the academic faculty members, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh introduced “Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Digital University” which will be established early next year, and the role it shall play in creating the link and bond between students and their universities, without having to bare the trouble and costs of travel. In introducing Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Dr. Tariq Hammouri the Dean of the Faculty of Law said that Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh is one of the most respectable minds in the Arab World, and presented few from amongst the many achievements of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh during his career over the years.
