"Istanbul Convention for the Prevention of Violence Against Women" symposium held in "Jordan"

The Centre for women's studies and the Faculty of law at the University of Jordan in cooperation with the" women's network to support women" held a symposium entitled "The European Council Convention for the prevention of violence against women and domestic violence Istanbul 2011." The Symposium was organized by the Director of the center for women Studies, Dr. Abeer Dababneh for the purposes of raising the awareness of the students on the Istanbul Convention on combating and preventing violence against women and girls, domestic violence, and entered into force in August 2014 after France's accession to it. The main two lecturers in the symposium were Dr. Mahasem Al-Jagoub/The Deputy dean of the faculty of law and Nuha Al-Mahareez from the women's network. The topics addressed by the lecturers covered the definition and objectives of the Convention aimed at protecting women from all forms of violence against women, and the mechanism of prevention and ways to eliminate them, and the actions taken to ensure that there is no impunity for perpetrators of crimes of violence against women.
