Title
UJ Hosts Summer School on Armed Conflicts and Human Rights
Body
A five-day summer school on armed conflicts and human rights was organized at the University of Jordan (UJ) during the period from 23 to 27 of July.
The 40-hours course was held by the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, based in Geneva, in cooperation with UJ’s School of Law.
The purpose of the course was to spread peace and human rights culture and promote adherence to international standards agreed upon in international law during armed conflicts.
20 jurists, law students and human rights researchers and practitioners from various Arab countries have participated in the school.
International experts and professors of international law from Tunisia, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan provided the participants with comprehensive understanding of the international humanitarian law and armed conflicts, international human rights law and international criminal law.
