The Law School and Brigham Young University Discuss Cooperation
On this day February 8th, 2017, the Dean of the Law School Professor Fayyad Alqudah, in the presence of Dr. Saad Abuelghanam (Dean's Assistant for Development and Quality assurance Affairs, met with the delegation of Brigham Young University (BYU) from the State of Utah in the USA; the delegation is composed of Professor Brett Scharffs, Director of the BYU International Center for Law and Religion Studies, retired U.S. Federal Judge Clifford Wallace and Dr. Erlend D. Peterson from BYU.
The two sides discussed the opportunities for cooperation in the field of Law and Religion studies where both agreed on the necessity to organize an international conference on the topic of Law and Religion hosted by the Law School in the University of Jordan in Amman next year.
The parties also agreed on the main theme of the conference to emphasize on the Amman Message, Jordan's work on interfaith harmony, and King Abdullah's recent discussion paper on the rule of law and the civil state.
In addition, the delegation extended an invitation to the Professor Alqudah to participate in the African Consortium of Law and Religion Studies conference to be held in Morocco on May 15-16, 2017.
